Episode Reviews - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Because My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is hit-or-miss depending on the episode, I decided to dedicate a section to reviewing each one.  I’m not nearly as much of a brony as I used to be, so I’m more likely to be objective in these reviews.  I was going through that obsession when I wrote the review for the show itself (as well as when I drew the above picture), so it may have been a bit too positive for what is really not that much more than a decent cartoon.  

SEASON 1

The first season of this show was quite strong.  Whether or not the stories were that great, the humor was very strong and the dialogue was witty.  The characters were getting developed well enough, and any lack of momentous change in the continuity was excuse by the fact that it was the first season.

SEASON 2

While the show was still good, there were some signs of decline, possibly due to Lauren Faust’s decreased involvement.  The writing and humor were overall strong, but a few episodes displayed an incredible lack of thought and stood out as very poor.

SEASON 4

Premiered immediately after the travesty that was My Little Pony: Equestria Girls.  If there’s one word I can use to describe this season, it’s “forgettable.”  I actually stopped watching halfway through this season, so I haven’t seen all the episodes, and some of the episodes I watched, I didn’t even remember watching them!  And the ones I do remember I mostly remember for negative reasons.  The ones I haven’t seen are in gray.
